SOLOTÜRK, a Turkish Air Force demonstration team, recently shared on their social media accounts about their participation in the Vaasa Airshow in Finland. The event took place on June 15-16 and included display flights and preparation processes.
To reach the Vaasa Airshow, SOLOTÜRK took off from the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya with two F-16 jets and a tanker aircraft from the 101st Asena Squadron. The journey to Finland took a total of 4 hours, after which the team arrived and performed display flights on June 15-16.
During the Vaasa Airshow, SOLOTÜRK greeted aviation enthusiasts with unique maneuvers such as reverse take-offs, the SOLOTÜRK tone, and the cobra move. The team also showcased the ability to fly the F-16 fighter jet at its slowest speed, pushing the limits of the aircraft in a way only SOLOTÜRK can.
The display flights at the Vaasa Airshow were executed by SOLOTÜRK Squadron Commander Major Murat Bakıcı and SOLOTÜRK Display Pilot Major Yasin Dikkule, who wowed the audience with their skills and precision.
After successfully completing their mission at the Vaasa Airshow in Finland, SOLOTÜRK returned to their home country, showcasing the strength and expertise of the Turkish Air Force’s demonstration team to an international audience.
