Sky Sports have signed a new five-year deal worth £935 million and will kick off their new agreement by featuring every game from the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season. Every EFL game will be shown live on Sky Sports on the opening weekend of next season as part of their new deal. The deal includes showing over 1,000 games live each season and lifting the Saturday 3pm blackout for the weekend of August 9/10/11. This move is allowed when over 50% of Premier League and EFL games are played and the top flight season starts a week later. Sky Sports will show the games on Sky Sports+ across their new-look app, live streams, and a dedicated channel.

They have committed to showing every club at least 20 times a season with ten EFL games shown live every weekend. Sky Sports managing director Jonathan Licht stated that this deal is a big step up in their coverage and an opportunity to highlight every club. The partnership with the EFL is seen as a major moment for football fans across the country. The new Premier League TV deal with Sky Sports will also see 100 more live top-flight games shown each season. Coverage from the Super League, ATP & WTA Tours, USA Open, and PGA Tour will be available via live streams. The new app aims to be interactive and cater to a younger audience.

Eddie Howe shared his thoughts with Sir Jim Ratcliffe about what Dan Ashworth will bring to Manchester United. Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe is set to be without a club after a contract decision. Sky Sports, with their new deal, are set to show every EFL match from the opening weekend of the next season. The fixtures will be confirmed right up to December after they were initially announced in the summer. The increase in Premier League games next season will affect schedules, and Sky Sports has acknowledged the concerns fans have about last-minute changes. Hopes are high for a successful partnership between Sky Sports and the EFL.
