Simone Biles has had a successful start to the year, being named Sports Illustrated 2024’s Sportsperson of the Year at the age of 27. She is the first Olympic athlete to receive this honor in over a decade, with the last being LeBron James in 2012. Biles graced the cover of the magazine in a snakeskin-printed dress, showcasing her incredible achievements in the world of gymnastics.

In a photo shoot for the issue, Biles flaunted her toned legs in silver sequin hot pants from Retrofête, paired with a black long-sleeve turtleneck romper by SER.O.YA and metallic silver Giuseppe Zanotti strappy heels. The athlete also posed in a racy see-through David Koma outfit with a plunging neckline and a flared mini skirt, demonstrating her versatility and bold style. The images captured by photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis showcased Biles in a new light, highlighting her athletic prowess and fashion sense.

Sports Illustrated shared the news of Biles being named Sportsperson of the Year on Instagram, receiving positive feedback from fans and followers. Many praised the publication for recognizing Biles’ incredible talent and achievements, with comments celebrating her status as a G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) in the world of gymnastics. Former teammate Aly Raisman and other notable figures also congratulated Biles on the well-deserved honor, acknowledging her as a true icon in the sport.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Biles expressed uncertainty about whether she will compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. She spoke about the need for the next Olympics to be about “life and death” in order for her to consider a return, emphasizing the importance of knowing when to step away from competition. Biles reflected on her extensive accomplishments and the possibility of moving on from competitive gymnastics, recognizing that she has achieved a great deal in her career.

Overall, Simone Biles’ recognition as Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year highlights her status as a trailblazer in the world of gymnastics and sports in general. Her achievements, both on and off the gymnastics floor, have earned her widespread acclaim and support from fans around the world. By showcasing her athleticism and fashion sense in the magazine issue, Biles continues to inspire others and break barriers in the sporting world. As she contemplates her future in competitive gymnastics, Biles remains a role model for aspiring athletes and a symbol of excellence in the field.
