Sia Furler, the 48-year-old Australian singer, has officially filed to legally change her name to Sia Bernad, one year after marrying her second husband, Dan Bernad. Their intimate nuptials took place at Dolce & Gabbana’s Villa Olivetta in Portofino, Italy, in front of only four guests. Sia had previously declared that she had decided to be single for the rest of her life after her divorce from Erik Anders Lang in 2017. However, her relationship with Dan Bernad began in December 2021, leading to their marriage. Additionally, in 2019, Sia legally adopted two 18-year-old men who had aged out of the foster care system, and she has since become a grandmother to twins.

In a year of transformation for Sia, she revealed that she had undergone liposuction to address weight gain from a medication and had also previously undergone a face lift. She also disclosed that she is on the autism spectrum during an appearance on a podcast. Sia’s directorial debut in 2021 with the film “Music” was criticized for being ableist and contributing to harmful stereotypes of autistic individuals. Despite winning a Razzie for worst director for the film, Sia continues to be open about her struggles with various afflictions, including bipolar hypomania, PTSD, alcoholism, addiction, chronic pain, Graves’ disease, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

Sia’s 10th studio album, “Reasonable Woman,” is set to be released soon and includes duets with artists such as Chaka Khan, Kylie Minogue, and Paris Hilton. Along with her music career, Sia is also involved in advocating for The Fans First Act, a bill aimed at increasing transparency in ticket sales and protecting consumers from fake or overpriced tickets. Sia, who has 51.8 million social media followers and 60.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, was originally discovered by an Italian DJ while singing karaoke in a bar.

Despite previously stating that she planned to remain single after her divorce, Sia’s relationship with Dan Bernad led to their marriage in Italy in front of a small group of guests. The couple will soon celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Sia’s openness about her struggles with weight gain, cosmetic procedures, and being on the autism spectrum has resonated with fans. Her directorial debut with “Music” received criticism for its portrayal of autism, and despite winning a Razzie award, Sia continues to be candid about her challenges with mental health and other issues. Sia’s upcoming album “Reasonable Woman” showcases collaborations with a range of artists and reflects her continued evolution as a musician. Alongside her music career, Sia is actively involved in advocating for consumer protections in the entertainment industry.
