The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change’s Meteorology General Directorate forecaster Kenan Yüksel has provided an evaluation of this week’s weather forecast. According to the latest assessments, temperatures in the northern, central, and eastern regions of the country are expected to be below seasonal norms, while in the southwest regions, temperatures are expected to be within seasonal norms. Yüksel also mentioned that intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected in the interior and eastern regions over the next week. Heavy rainfall is predicted in the local areas of Ağrı, Iğdır, Bitlis, Muş, Şırnak, and Siirt.
Yüksel stated that rainfall will continue in the eastern regions on Wednesday and Thursday, but the intensity will decrease. He also mentioned that there is no expected rainfall in the western regions over the next week, with generally partly cloudy to clear skies. In the three major cities, Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, there will be no rainfall for the next 3 days, with generally partly cloudy and clear weather prevailing.
Yüksel noted that rainfall will continue over the weekend in the eastern regions, while the southern, central, and western regions are not expected to have rainfall during the weekend. He also mentioned that the temperature in Ankara will be 2 degrees tonight, dropping to 0 degrees in the inner and higher altitudes. Yüksel warned that there could be agricultural frost locally in Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Eskişehir, and Uşak.
Yüksel further stated that temperatures will rise in the coming week. Warm weather is on the horizon for the country as the temperatures are expected to increase in the upcoming days.
