Selma Blair attended the Tribeca Film Festival with her service dog at a premiere event for “Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge.” The actress, who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis since 2018, appeared in good spirits as she posed for photos on the red carpet with her English red fox Labrador service dog named Scout. Blair wore a black one-shoulder split-thigh dress paired with pointed-toe pumps, slicked-back blonde hair, and gold jewelry.

Before the screening of the documentary which provides an “unprecedented look” into Von Furstenberg’s life, Blair shared some of the women she looks up to, including Paulina Porizkova and Diane Von Furstenberg herself. She also mentioned childhood idols like Lauren Hutton, Ashley Olsen, and Mary-Kate Olsen, as well as others with staying power and classic style. Blair is serving as a juror for the 2024 Nora Ephron Award at the festival, showcasing her continued involvement in the entertainment industry despite her health struggles.

Although Blair does not attend every red-carpet event with Scout, she has credited her service dog with providing her a lot of independence since her MS diagnosis in August 2018. The partnership between Blair and Scout began in 2021, with the dog assisting her with personal stumbling blocks and mobility issues caused by her condition. Scout is able to help Blair during muscle spasms or difficulties moving by balancing her and helping her get up, giving her the confidence to navigate independently.

Selma Blair first shared her MS diagnosis with the public on social media in late 2018, revealing her struggles with the disease. She described herself as disabled, mentioning issues like falling, dropping things, foggy memory, and difficulties with movement on her left side. Despite these challenges, Blair expressed her determination to continue pushing forward and doing her best. Since then, she has been open and vocal about her journey with MS, using her platform to raise awareness and advocate for those living with the condition.

Blair’s presence at the Tribeca Film Festival with Scout by her side highlights her resilience and determination to continue pursuing her passion for acting despite the obstacles she faces. Her positive attitude and commitment to advocating for those with MS have inspired many fans and followers. By spotlighting her bond with Scout and sharing her experiences with the disease, Blair continues to be a source of inspiration and empowerment for others living with similar challenges. As she navigates the complexities of living with MS, Blair remains unwavering in her dedication to her craft and her advocacy work.
