Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia fired more than 40 missiles and 40 drones at Ukraine overnight, targeting critical infrastructure throughout the country. Kharkiv was hit once again, with missiles and drones being shot down, but some managing to cause damage. Other cities such as Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Lviv were also targeted, resulting in damage to critical infrastructure.

The attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities have been ongoing over the past months, with Russia launching some of its biggest aerial strikes in recent times. Zelensky urged Ukraine’s Western partners to provide more air defence systems to help protect against Russian aggression. Hundreds of rescuers were deployed to different sites across the country following the massive shelling, but fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries reported despite the destruction caused.

Moscow launched more than 10 missiles at Kharkiv, leaving parts of the city without electricity. The mayor of Kharkiv warned of potential energy supply problems, while other regions like Zaporizhzhia and Lviv also experienced attacks on their infrastructure. Russia claimed to have destroyed 12 Ukrainian drones overnight, with some reaching as far east as the Mordovia republic and others being taken down in various regions within Russia where they were attacking.

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has seen an escalation in violence, with civilian infrastructure being targeted by Russian forces. Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials have called for support from Western allies to help defend against Russia’s attacks. The destruction caused by the missiles and drones has led to concerns about the safety and security of Ukrainian citizens as they continue to endure the impact of the war.

Despite the continued attacks on Ukraine, including the recent missile strikes on cities like Kharkiv and Kyiv, Zelensky emphasized that the country will not bow down to Russian aggression. The resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity and destruction has been noted by leaders around the world. Efforts to provide support and aid to Ukraine in defending against further attacks have been discussed, with a focus on protecting critical infrastructure and preventing further loss of life.

As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate, the need for international intervention and support has become crucial. The attacks on critical infrastructure and civilians have raised concerns about the humanitarian impact of the war. The Ukrainian government is calling on its allies to provide additional assistance in the form of air defence systems and other resources to help protect against further Russian aggression. The courage and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity is a testament to their strength and resilience in the midst of ongoing conflict.
