The company has also faced pressure from the Australian and New Zealand governments to remove content, including a viral video of a Sydney bishop being attacked and data released by a government whistleblower concerning the efficacy of a COVID-19 vaccine. Pavlovski is expected to inform the committee about these censorship attempts and emphasize the “overt” nature of governments’ actions. He will call on the U.S. government to take a leading role in defending freedom of speech, warning that if Rumble is facing these demands today, other outlets could be targeted in the future.
