Dhel Duncan-Busby, a Vancouver native, made an impressive debut in his first CFL game for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Despite fumbling his first CFL reception, he was able to recover the ball and went on to amass seven receptions for 92 yards against the Ottawa Redblacks, helping his team secure a 29-16 victory. Now in his second week of preparation for the Riders’ upcoming game against the Edmonton Elks, Duncan-Busby is feeling more comfortable with the offense and is looking forward to continuing to contribute on the field.

As a first-year Rider, Duncan-Busby initially found the fast pace of the CFL game to be challenging and took some time to get used to it. He acknowledged the speed at which the game is played and the skill level of the players in the league, but remains focused on locking in on his assignments and executing his role on the team. Despite the pressure and expectations that come with playing at a professional level, Duncan-Busby is determined to prove to himself that he belongs in the CFL and has the ability to excel as a professional football player.

Looking ahead to his second start this weekend in Edmonton, Duncan-Busby is focused on continuing to improve and demonstrate his skills on the field. He is motivated by his own drive to succeed and is not seeking validation from others, but rather seeking to prove to himself that he is capable of playing at the highest level of competition. As he gains more experience and reps in the offense, Duncan-Busby is confident that he will become more mentally sharp and better equipped to handle the demands of professional football.

Despite facing challenges and nerves in his debut CFL game, Duncan-Busby showed resilience and composure on the field, ultimately making a significant impact for his team. His ability to recover from mistakes and maintain his focus speaks to his determination and perseverance as a player. As he continues to gain experience and adjust to the speed of the CFL game, Duncan-Busby’s confidence and comfort level are expected to increase, allowing him to further contribute to the success of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Duncan-Busby’s performance in his debut CFL game has garnered attention and praise, solidifying his place as a promising young talent in the league. His ability to adapt to the challenges of professional football and make an impact on the field bodes well for his future career in the CFL. With his strong work ethic and dedication to improving, Duncan-Busby is poised to continue making a valuable contribution to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and establishing himself as a key player in the league. As he looks ahead to future games and opportunities, Duncan-Busby remains focused on proving himself and showcasing his talent in the CFL.
