The team consists of David Raya from Arsenal in goal, Kyle Walker from Manchester City as the right-back, William Saliba from Arsenal, Virgil Van Dijk from Liverpool, and Destiny Udogie from Tottenham making up the backline. In the midfield, Savage selected Martin Odegaard from Arsenal, Declan Rice from Arsenal, and Phil Foden from Manchester City. Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, was selected as the Manager of the Year by Savage, crediting him for Arsenal’s current success at the top of the Premier League. Savage highlighted the importance of making these choices early in the campaign, as the PFA Team of the Year voting often takes place before the season concludes, leading to potential anomalies.

Robbie Savage praised David Raya of Arsenal for his standout performances this season, becoming the Gunners’ number one under manager Mikel Arteta. He also mentioned the exceptional play of Kyle Walker from Manchester City, William Saliba from Arsenal, and Virgil Van Dijk from Liverpool in defense. In the midfield, Savage commended Martin Odegaard from Arsenal, Declan Rice from Arsenal, and Phil Foden from Manchester City. Up front, he highlighted the contributions of Cole Palmer from Chelsea, Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, and Mo Salah from Liverpool.

Savage noted the impressive season Foden has had, scoring 22 goals and showcasing his talent on the world stage. He also praised Mainoo for his impact at Manchester United as a young player with great potential. Arteta was recognized for leading Arsenal to the top of the Premier League, with a strong chance of reaching the Champions League semi-finals. Savage emphasized the importance of his choices and encouraged feedback and discussion on social media regarding his selections for the team of the season.

Savage discussed the unpredictability of award selections that often occur before the conclusion of the season. He highlighted individual performances from players like Foden, Mainoo, and Arteta that have stood out in the Premier League. Despite ongoing debates and differing opinions on team selections, Savage reflected on the standout performances and contributions that have made an impact on the league. He credited the players and managers for their achievements, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their efforts throughout the season.
