The autopsy of University of Missouri student Riley Strain has revealed no evidence of foul play-related trauma, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. The 22-year-old’s body was recovered from the Cumberland River, and his death is currently being treated as accidental pending the results of a toxicological examination. Strain was last seen in downtown Nashville after being asked to leave a bar during a trip with his fraternity brothers for a spring formal. Before disappearing, he told his friends he would return to his hotel but never made it back. Videos released by police showed Strain stumbling around the area before his disappearance.

Luke’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink, where Strain was last seen, stated that he was served one alcoholic drink and two waters before being escorted out by security. The establishment did not provide further details regarding the incident. Strain’s bank card was later found between Gay Street and the river, and videos showed him appearing to have a friendly exchange with a police officer after leaving the bar. Two weeks after he went missing, a worker discovered Strain’s body in the river and alerted authorities. Police Chief John Drake confirmed during a press conference that Strain’s body was fished out of the river on March 17.

The medical examiner has not yet released a complete autopsy report as they are awaiting the results of testing, including toxicology reports. The investigation into Strain’s death is ongoing, with police still working to determine the events that led to his disappearance and subsequent death. Strain’s stepfather, Chris Whiteid, expressed his grief and described the events leading up to his stepson’s disappearance on a news program. The community and the fraternity that Strain was a part of are mourning his loss and seeking answers as to what happened to him on that fateful night in Nashville.

Despite the lack of evidence of foul play-related trauma, the circumstances surrounding Strain’s death are still unclear, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to his disappearance and eventual death. The discovery of his body in the river two weeks after he went missing raised questions about what happened to him during that time. The fact that Strain’s bank card was found between Gay Street and the river suggests that he may have been in that area before his death. Friends and family are grappling with the loss of a young man with his whole life ahead of him.

The tragic death of Riley Strain has left a community and a fraternity in mourning as they come to terms with his untimely passing. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death raise concerns about safety and accountability in the downtown Nashville area. The fraternity brothers who were with Strain on the night he went missing are left to piece together the events of that night and the decisions that may have led to his death. The investigation into Strain’s death is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of his demise and provide closure for his loved ones. The community is left to mourn the loss of a promising young man taken too soon.
