Robert F. Kennedy Jr. kept a list of up to 43 rumored mistresses in his cellphone, with contact information for a number of women in an alphabetical list under the letter “G,” which his second wife suspected stood for “goomar.” This list included actress Cheryl Hines, who went on to marry Kennedy in 2014 at his family compound in Hyannis Port. Hines has not publicly commented on reports that Kennedy was sexting with New York magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi earlier in the year, with sources claiming that she is financially independent and strong-willed.
In 2014, Kennedy also had contact information for Chelsea Chapman Kirwan, who was rumored to have been involved with him during her own divorce from a famous plastic surgeon. The list included multiple women with the same first name, requiring distinctions based on their professions or locations. Kennedy appeared to have a mistress in nearly every major city, including multiple individuals in Toronto, Paris, Palm Beach, Pensacola, Alaska, Aspen, Miami, Montreal, and Cleveland, with some cryptically marked as “airplane,” “farm,” “teacher,” or simply “Z.”
Kennedy’s second wife, Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012, had shared with a friend that he also used aliases while traveling to hide his identity. Kennedy’s preferred pseudonym was “Robert Strong,” and he refused to comment on these revelations when they were made public in 2014. Kennedy also documented his extramarital activities in a series of diaries that were seen after Mary’s death, which included codes for different sexual acts and reflections on his spiritual struggles.
A Post reporter confronted Kennedy with questions about the diary, which was met with silence followed by a denial from Kennedy that such a diary existed from 2001. Kennedy clarified that the diaries were for self-examination and dealing with his spiritual struggles at that time. Kennedy’s recent romantic interests made headlines when New York magazine disclosed that reporter Olivia Nuzzi had a personal relationship with a subject related to the 2024 presidential race. The subject was later revealed to be Kennedy, but Nuzzi denied that their relationship was ever physical, clarifying it was professional.
Kennedy suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed Donald Trump, with Nuzzi having taken leave due to her relationship with him. Sources indicated that Kennedy and Nuzzi had been sexting at some point during the year, but Kennedy’s spokesperson claimed that they had only met once for an interview that had resulted in a negative article. Despite the allegations of sexting and inappropriate relationships, Kennedy’s spokesperson maintained that his interactions with Nuzzi were limited to an initial interview.
