What To KnowAt time of writing, the states with regions under weather advisories included California, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, West Virginia, Alaska, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, Maine, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. While anticipates snowfall varied from state to state, in Wyoming, the NWS forecast snow accumulations of between 8 and 14 inches across the Teton Range. The service said travel across Teton Pass could be difficult, and that the heaviest snow will occur after sunrise Monday through to the early afternoon. However, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, NWS Riverton said those in Wyoming hoping for a white Christmas would be out of luck, as, while a winter storm was forecast to move through the region on Christmas Eve, this would not bring snow to most portions of the state. What People Are SayingKonrad Supinski, meteorologist at WJFW Newswatch 12, wrote on X: “Winter Weather Advisories have been issued until 6:00PM Monday for ice and snow accumulations.”Minor ice accumulations are possible mainly into central parts of Wisconsin. Snow accumulations of a trace to 2” is possible with isolated locations receiving slightly more.”Will Haenni, meteorologist at WWMT, Michigan, posted on X, Sunday: “Ice and snow accumulations will be minor tomorrow, but just enough to potentially make things a little slick.”We’ll likely see a wintry mix move in after about 8 a.m. and continue through at least the early afternoon before transitioning over to snow or rain/snow.”What Happens NextAt time of writing, the NWS said the weather advisory for the part of Wyoming with 14 inches of snow forecast would remain in effect until 7 p.m. MST on Monday.Do you have a story we should be covering?
