Around 45,000 revelers have descended on one of Sydney’s most picturesque parks to see international musical sensations Charli XCX and Djo perform at Laneway music festival.

Festival goers flooded into Centennial Park in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on Sunday to catch the first of the acts, which kicked off just after 11.30 a.m.

As well as a passion for music, the crowds also revealed a love for a new fashion trend known as boho moto.

The movement combines the recently rejuvenated boho fashion trend – known for its soft florals and voluminous shapes – with edgier fabrics and accessories typically associated with motorcycles.

Boho moto featured prominently in the crowds of young music lovers attending Laneway, where floaty lace dresses were often seen paired with denim or studded metal belts.

Festival goers made it clear they had opted for comfort for more than 10 hours of performances from acts such as Remi Wolf and Barry Can’t Swim.

There wasn’t a high heel in sight as women opted for stylish boots or sneakers for the long day ahead.

Most of the attendees appeared ready for the nearly 86 degree heat and humidity, wearing light clothing and hats. Two girls went one step further and wore bikini tops and skirts to beat the heat.

A fondness for cowboy and western culture was also obvious in the crowds of young festival-goers, with denim and cowboy boots appearing as a favorite sartorial selection.

While most of the crowd appeared excited and well ahead of the festivities, at least two health incidents occurred in front of the entrance gates.

Police were seen attending to a person wearing a brown outfit who appeared to have collapsed onto the grass outside the entrance gates.

Another person wearing a white outfit was also seen lying on a gurney and being attended to by medical professionals and police.

NSW Police said they could not comment on operations at the festival until it has concluded this evening, but they have not been made aware of any fatal incidents.

Officers could be seen patrolling the venue throughout the day, a number of them using motorbikes to traverse the park.

Detective Superintendent Paul Simpkins issued a statement ahead of the festival in which he urged music lovers to enjoy the event safely and responsibly.

“Our officers will be targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol fueled violence – this is no place for this sort of behavior,” he said.

“Attendees who choose to do the wrong thing not only risk their own safety, but also the safety of others around them.”

The Eastern Beaches Police Area Commander reiterated that illegal drugs can be life-threatening and called on people to seek medical help if they feel unwell.

NSW Ambulance crews are in attendance at the festival to provide assistance or medical intervention.

Laneway will conclude just before 10 p.m. after headliner Charli XCX performs an hour-long set on the main stage while BICEP does a CHROMA AV DJ set on another stage.

Revellers looking to continue the fun can head to the Laneway afterparty at Oxford Art Factory for the afterparty.

Laneway acts like RONA. and Fcukers will be performing, but tickets are limited.
