Summarize this content to 2000 words in 6 paragraphs Mohammed Kudus has not scored since December but West Ham head coach Graham Potter reckons Ghana star, who is now the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia, could soon produce the goods(Image: Photo by Sebastian Frej/MB Media/Getty Images)Graham Potter is tipping Mohammed Kudus to make up for lost time and propel West Ham up the table. The Hammers are defensively tighter since Potter’s arrival in January but they have lacked consistency going forward with no Premier League side taking fewer shots on target. And while the head coach knows his team remains a work in progress, he believes Kudus in particular could soon be the beneficiary of a “catch-up effect.”The Ghana star, 24, has been unable to replicate last season’s form in a difficult second campaign in the East End. He served a five-match ban before Potter’s arrival after losing his head during a derby defeat to Tottenham in October and has found the net once since then.READ MORE: Heartbroken Cardiff City star pays tribute to brother killed in first Muay Thai fightREAD MORE: Seven players could miss Arsenal vs Fulham as Mikel Arteta confirms new injury to defenderBut before tonight’s trip to Wolves, Potter has seen signs that the forward’s fitness is back to a top level and he reckons the goals will soon come.“He’s probably had a season that, from his perspective, is a little bit disappointing for different reasons, not because of a lack of effort,” Potter said.“Sometimes these things happen. He has been great with us in terms of how he’s worked with us every day. He has built his condition up to the point where he can sustain things better.Graham Potter was appointed head coach of West Ham in January(Image: Photo by West Ham United FC/West Ham United FC via Getty Images)“Football can go like this sometimes. You can have a spell where it doesn’t go for you in front of goal or the final pass doesn’t quite get there, but it doesn’t take much to turn it around. The numbers say something but also there are aspects to his performances that have been really good.“He missed some game time for a few weeks and, like anything, sometimes you have different ideas around training and games and stuff. It’s not necessarily fitness, it’s more playing football with us and the demands we have. It feels like a catch-up effect could happen because of the way he trains and works.”Potter’s attacking options have been boosted by Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug returning from injury and Lucas Paqueta, whose hearing into alleged spot-fixing continues this week, remains available for selection.“It is what it is, we can’t do anything about that,” Potter added. “But he has trained well and he is acting absolutely normally. He has just got to deal with what he has got to deal with but from our perspective he is available and we are looking forward to him playing.”Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
