Two North Carolina men were arrested last week on charges that they kidnapped and sex trafficked a 15-year-old girl when cops caught the creeps with the teen after issuing an Amber Alert.
The teenager disappeared from her home on Feb. 21, prompting a search by the Siler City Police Department, who brought in state authorities and the FBI on Tuesday, the department said on Facebook.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation joined the investigation and authorities found the girl with a 23-year-old man, Ronny Suearez, about 20 miles away from her Siler City home Thursday.
“Two suspects were quickly identified,” the state agency said. “[Criminal Apprehension Team] assets were deployed to the cities of Asheboro and Kingston, where Ronny Suarez and the 15-year-old female were located at 129 W. Strider Street in Asheboro.”
Police said they then tracked the second suspect, Saul Ramirez Guvara, 26, to a Quality Inn hotel in nearby Kinston.
The victim had reportedly met her kidnappers through social media, according to WCCB-TV in Charlotte.
Both men are now being held at the Chatham County Jail on charges including first-degree kidnapping, human trafficking of a child, and soliciting a child by computer, police said.
The case was one of two teen trafficking crimes that led to Amber Alerts in the state last week.
On Tuesday, cops issued an alert in Harnett County after another 15-year-old girl was snatched by a pair of creeps, the outlet reported.
Elihue Martin Mahler, 31, of Virginia Beach, and Austyn Lee Cole, 23, of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, were both charged with kidnapping and trafficking charges after an Amber Alert in that case on Tuesday.
