This wasn’t the wake-up call she’d planned.
A young female tourist was awoken when a hotel ceiling collapsed onto her in the middle of the night.
Alma Lagerstedt was sleeping in her bed when a loud crash jolted her awake at 3 am.
When she shot up, she realized the ceiling of her bedroom had fallen on her and now completely covered the room.
The 23-year-old was startled by the situation and immediately decided to record the scene to capture the craziness of what she experienced.
“You know when you’re sleeping in your bed, and the f–king roof falls down on top of you?” she asked in a viral TikTok video.
“The whole f–king roof. Oh my God.”
Lagerstedt was shown standing in the small room, covered with a towel and surrounded by the rubble that was her former roof. She then flipped the camera around to show the debris on her bed and scattered all around.
She then turned her camera to where the ceiling was, showing just the remaining structure that was supposed to uphold the shelter.
The Swede, who’s been traveling the world surfing and doing yoga, was staying at a hotel by Pandawa Beach in Bali when the incident happened.
“[After it happened] I took off to my friend’s house and then later on moved my stuff to another room,” she told Jam Press.
“I didn’t really wanna stay there anymore, so in the end I got all the money back, and I moved to another place.”
Lagerstedt’s shocking stay could enter her into the competition for the “world’s unluckiest traveler.”
The teasing title, given out by a travel insurance provider, doesn’t just provide bad bragging rights — there’s a cash prize of $10,000 for first place.
The sad sequences entered last year, all available to read online, span from earthquakes and wrong airport dropoffs to french fry-stealing lizards.
However, the award was given to a woman who was unceremoniously carried out of her Airbnb in a body bag — and lived to tell the tale.
