The world premiere Joyce Theater production brings Lindy Hop champions and their incredibly fun-to-watch talents to the Joyce stage, celebrating holiday classics played live by the Eyal Vilner Big Band, including “Sleigh Ride,” “Winter Wonderland,” “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?,” and more (If the name sounds familiar, it’s because this is a new rendition of their lauded hit show, “SW!NG OUT”). Rebecca Gardner, widely considered one of the country’s best event designers, is also the brainchild behind Houses & Parties, a website offering a wide range of gifts, from the practical to the wonderfully cheeky and irreverent. On Monday (November 25), she’ll unveil “A Screaming Blast,” her Houses & Parties pop-up shop at Veronica Beard Madison Avenue, where she’ll deck the halls (and windows) with exclusive tabletop and off-beat gifts. Examples include heirloom silver, artisanal barware, miles of luxurious table linens, and show-stopping party hats. She’s also managed to wrangle a bright blue 1954 convertible that will make periodic loops along Madison Avenue, enticing guests to explore the festive offerings. Through December 15. “Colorama,” a show now on view at Superhouse in Tribeca, represents the first time that Wendy Maruyama and Tom Loeser have shown together in our fair city in over 30 years. On view: a mix of works made especially for the occasion and historical examples of both artists’ pieces. It represents a return to the duo’s radical roots, transforming American fine art furniture. In a statement, the gallery noted “While furniture artists today enjoy the freedom to choose material, technique, and finish, the duo’s break from traditional woodworking and finishing techniques over 40 years ago was tantamount to a revolutionary act.” Through January 11, 2025. New Yorkers never seem to tire of a good, classic French Bistro. The latest, Paris Bar, recently opened in the Le Meridien Hotel on West 57th Street. The 80-seat establishment marks Fireman Hospitality’s first foray into that category, but they did their homework, tapping chef Brando De Oliveira — a graduate of Paris’s Le Cordon Bleu and the former chef of the iconic, Michelin-starred Aureole — to oversee the kitchen.
