Jennifer Lopez has felt at times that she hasn’t been “enough” for her 16-year-old kids Max and Emme.
“I’ve been a single mom at times in my life, and [I’ve asked,] ‘Am I enough for them?’” Lopez said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly published Monday.
“And the truth is, all you need is really one good parent to love you,” the “Let’s Get Loud” singer — who shares her twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony — added.
Lopez credited NCAA wrestler Anthony Robles, whom her new film “Unstoppable” is about, for helping her realize that she is “enough” after all.
“You hear it in Anthony’s voice, and look what he’s been able to accomplish,” she added. “That’s what the movie gave me: You are enough.”
The 55-year-old also emphasized that a strong support system is essential for someone to succeed in life.
“It says a lot about the character of someone, when people are good and loving and supportive of each other, what they can accomplish,” Lopez said.
Judy Robles, Anthony’s mother and who Lopez portrays in the new movie, also chimed in on how the film impacted her view of going through hard times as a parent.
“Everything that we went through together, individually, I wouldn’t change it as hard as it was, as painful as it was, as many times as I cried and just wondered, why am I the one going through this again week after week, year after year,” she said.
“Going through that was worth it to get to where we are because instead of folding under the pressure and giving up, he and I continued to fight through it.”
The William Goldenberg-directed biopic documents how Anthony overcame struggles as a professional wrestler born with only one leg.
This isn’t the first time that Lopez has discussed being a proud mother to two kids, as she previously opened up about blending her and her estranged husband Ben Affleck’s families in 2022.
At the time, Lopez and Affleck were newly weds and co-parenting their families along with Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
In Vogue’s 2022 December cover story, Lopez said that the family blending was “going really well” despite the teenagers having “so many feelings.”
The film is being released amid Lopez and Affleck’s divorce.
Affleck — who recently spent Thanksgiving with Garner — and Lopez tied the knot in July 2022 after previously ending their first engagement in 2004.
“Unstoppable” will be released in theaters for a limited time starting Dec. 6 followed by streaming on Prime Video on Jan. 16.
