Sherri Shepherd is not a fan of the sheer trend that dominated the Oscars and its various afterparties.
The talk show host, 57, called out stars including Megan Thee Stallion, Zoë Kravitz and Julia Fox, who all wore partially nude dresses at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday, March 2.
“You could see everything,” Shepherd said on the Tuesday, March 4, episode of her eponymous talk show. “Zoë Kravitz graced us with her butt crack. You could see everything. Megan Thee Stallion wore a dark green gown with only matching green pasties to cover up her breasts.” (Fox, meanwhile, channeled Lady Godiva in a sheer dress with strategically placed strands of hair covering her crotch and part of her cleavage, though her nipples were on display.)
Shepherd continued, “This is where I have to put my Auntie Sherri wig on, and I say this with all the love that I have: ladies, this is not it.”

Shepherd said that celebrities should be more discerning about their image because there are “young girls who are looking up to all of you” who might emulate their looks.
The former View cohost said she was particularly upset by Megan’s appearance in an emerald gown that exposed one of her breasts. The star covered up her nipple with a pastie in the same color as her gown.

“Megan Thee Stallion, I love you. I’m so upset because God gave you a legitimate gift,” Shepherd said, addressing the “WAP” rapper. “You’re amazing with your lyrical rhymes and how smart you are. A lot of these celebrities say they don’t wanna be a role model, but here’s the thing: it comes with the territory. You can’t escape it.”
“Megan, when you said you graduated from college, do you know how many girls you inspired to go to school also? You didn’t ask for that, but they were watching you,” Shepherd continued.

Later, Shepherd added, “I’m not trying to shame anybody. I’m just concerned where this is going.”
The daytime star also brought up Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, who wore a sheer look at the Grammys in February. “It wasn’t just her cookie jar — we saw cakes and croissants too,” Shepherd said, adding that she thought Censori “looked very uncomfortable.”
Shepherd concluded by reiterating that the celebrities in question are role models for younger women who may be influenced by their red carpet looks.

“All y’all who are sitting out there, these young girls are emulating you. They don’t have security around them. They’re emulating you and they go to these parties and something tragic could happen,” Shepherd said. “These are our future, these young women and young men. I love all of y’all but Auntie Sherri has spoken.”
“Just think about it when you’re putting on this stuff. ‘Who am I influencing? Who’s going to be watching me?’ You never know,” she added.
