Summarize this content to 2000 words in 6 paragraphs The political response to antisemitism in Australia has become increasingly partisan, with the coalition launching attacks on a number of members of the government over their responses to the Melbourne synagogue firebombing.Announcing a range of policies designed to combat antisemitism at a press conference in Melbourne, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton continued his attacks on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, suggesting he had “urged” the PM to convene an emergency meeting of the national cabinet in November last year to raise the Jewish communities concerns.Opposition Leader Peter Dutton criticised Labor MP Josh Burns for failing to stand up to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.Credit: Paul Jeffers“The prime minister has made the country, our country, less safe,” Dutton said.“There’s still opportunity for the prime minister to stand up and say he’s made a mistake.”Dutton also criticised Labor MP Josh Burns, who is Jewish, saying that while he “didn’t doubt his intentions”, he had failed to stand up to the prime minister.“When people were bought in from Gaza, people who hadn’t had the security checks undertaken on tourist visas, that’s when Josh Burns should have been speaking. Josh Burns should have been speaking up when the protests took place at the Opera House,” Dutton said.Loading“So I don’t doubt Josh Burns’s intent, his passion, but he’s part of a political party, which is the problem.”Opposition home affairs spokesperson James Patterson also launched a broadside on his counterpart, Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke.“Tony Burke has taught the big game in this area. But what has he actually done? How many visas has he actually cancelled?” he asked.“It is impossible for me to believe that not a single person on a visa visiting our country has been involved in these protests, has been involved in this antisemitism.”He said it was “extraordinary” that Burke hasn’t fronted the media since the synagogue firebombing, nor visited the site of the attack.“Do you think this would have been his response if it was a mosque that was firebombed and not a synagogue?”
