This put the “air” in “rocking chair.”

A passenger aboard an IndiGo flight across India said he nearly experienced a “mini heart attack” after his row of seats started swaying back and forth, as seen in an unsettling Instagram video taking off online.

“The first time it happened, it was a terrifying feeling,” Daksh Sethi wrote in the caption the clip, which was filmed by a fellow flyer. “Never experienced anything like this.”

The extra bumpy ride reportedly occurred shortly after takeoff on a flight from Delhi to Lucknow, the Hindustan Times reported.

In the dramatic footage, which was uploaded Mar. 18, Sethi and two other passengers can be seen sitting in a row of three seats when the chairs start to rock uncontrollably.

Given that there was no turbulence, it quickly became clear that there was a maintenance issue.

The seats had seemingly become loose due to a faulty “locking mechanism.”

Reps for IndiGo, a budget carrier which is India’s largest, addressed the incident in a now-hidden comment on Sethi’s Instagram post, The Tribune reported.

“Apparently this was an anomaly (sic), a very unusual occurrence as these seats have a locking mechanism,” the official explained.

Sethi recounted the white knuckle experience at the end of his viral Instagram video.

“Everyone was engrossed in whatever they were doing when suddenly the three seats go back with a [jolt].

“It was like a feeling of free fall in a flying aircraft,” the shaken traveler recalled. “Not a good feeling at all. This was like a mini heart attack.”

He added, “I would not want anyone flying inside of an aircraft to feel this. Soon we realized that the seats were loose.”

He explained that flight attendants quickly moved the people in his row to other vacant seats on board the aircraft for the remainder of the flight.

“We sincerely apologize for your onboard experience,” IndiGo officials subsequently stated.

They added, “We understand our crew responded promptly to address the situation and provided you with an alternate seat. The safety and comfort of our customers remain our top most priority.”
