The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a high-risk warning on more than 10,000 pounds of pork products across four states in two separate recalls.

Baltimore-based Impero Foods & Meats, Inc. is recalling approximately 7,485 pounds of raw pork sausage products that were produced “without the benefit of federal inspection,” the USDA announced Friday.

FSIS had received notice that products were being produced at a facility that had a suspended grant of inspection. FSIS conducted surveillance and determined that the Old World Italian Sausage links and ropes were not inspected by FSIS, prompting the recall.

The items affected were produced from October 3, 2024, through December 19, 2024, and contain the establishment number “EST. 10827.” Products were shipped in 10-pound cardboard boxes to restaurants and retail locations in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or illness due to consumption of the products, but the USDA advises those who purchased “Old World Sausage” with an undisclosed brand between Oct. 2, 2024, and Dec. 19, 2024, should toss the product or return it to the place of purchase.

FSIS designated the recall as Class I, which is described as “a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

Meanwhile, in Oklahoma, Ralph’s Packing Company is recalling approximately 3,132 pounds of ready-to-eat pork and beef bologna products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the USDA announced Friday.

FSIS was notified that labels applied to the products did not include milk as an ingredient.

The recalled meats include Ralph’s Circle R brand Garlic Bologna and Garlic Bologna with Jalapeños. These items have been produced since September 2022 and may be frozen, prompting concern that they may still be in people’s or establishment’s fridges or freezers.

Affected products have the establishment number “EST. 51557” inside the USDA mark of inspection, as well as the following lot codes:

Ralph’s Circle R Brand Garlic Bologna: 0093, 0654, 0804, 1074, 1153, 1224, 1374, 1774, 1924, 2572, 2974, 3132 and 3483.

Ralph’s Circle R Brand Garlic Bologna with Jalapeños: 0804, 1074, 1224, 1233, 1354, 2184 and 3374.

The FSIS warned in the Class I recall that these products may have been sliced and sold at retail deli counters.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, but those who have purchased them are urged not to consume them and rather throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
