rewrite this title Newlyweds’ honeymoon from hell — here’s the miraculous way they survived ship sinking

A newlywed couple’s honeymoon cruise went to hell after their ship sank, leaving the lovebirds clinging to the same lifejacket.

Footage shows them, other passengers and crewmembers bobbing in the turbulent waters with a boat in the distance.

The miraculous survival saga occurred March 2 while Brazilian doctor Caio Gomes and his wife, businesswoman Fernanda Diniz, were pleasure boating off the Maldives to celebrate tying the knot, Newsflash reported.

Disaster struck 40 minutes into the voyage when, recounted Gomes, a “really big” wave rocked the love boat, 56 passengers and three crewmembers total onboard.

The vessel didn’t sink right away despite the impact and instead cruised for another 20 minutes before it “slowly started to lean to the right as it sailed,” the physician said.

“So, I think what happened was that the boat hit a wave hard, and something broke in the boat’s gutter and water got into that compartment,” he surmised.

Despite the calamity, the crew didn’t inform the passengers that they were sinking, only saying they needed to don their lifejackets and jump into the water, he claimed.

“The exit from the boat was peaceful, no one was too scared, and no one was hurt,” Gomes said.

However, the mood quickly changed after the newlyweds got into the drink and realized that neither of their life vests would inflate.

With no other recourse, the couple swam until they found a stray lifejacket, which they shared like Kane Winselt and Leonardo DiCaprio’s doomed ocean scene from “Titanic.”

“We managed to hold on to the life jacket and floated on it, and it held us both up,” said Gomes, who said they were in the water for another 30 to 40 minutes before another ship came along and rescued them.

While the doctor said that “nobody got hurt” during the mishap, he claimed the experience took an emotional toll.

“There were no injuries, no scratches, nothing — just psychological trauma because it was a huge blow for us,” said Gomes.

The only casualty was a backpack containing the couple’s passports, forcing them to contact the Brazilian embassy in Sri Lanka so they could return to their homeland.
