McDonald’s has launched a limited-time Pokémon Happy Meal, sending fans of all ages scrambling for their share of the coveted collectible loot — with some heading straight to eBay to resell their hauls for hundreds.
Available via the fast food chain’s mobile app, the offering includes one of four themed boxes, each containing a booster pack for the popular Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Besides your meal, you’ll get four promotional trading cards out of a special collection of 15, plus a Pokémon poster and some stickers.
In addition, each purchase comes with a special in-game bonus for users of the Pokémon TCG Pocket app. Customers will be given a code to redeem.
The meal features Pokémon-themed apple slices and milk jugs, as well.
“I can’t wait to see the sheer display of neckbeard savagery these bring upon the local McDonald’s cashiers,” one fan said in a discussion of the promotion on Reddit.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time the Golden Arches has paired up with the anime phenomenon — the initial collaboration was back in 1999, to promote the release of the first Pokémon movie.
More recently, in 2021, they joined forces to celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.
The current promotion will continue through late February.
