Upon arrival, they discovered a 60-year-old man who had been shot.Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he was declared dead at the scene, police confirmed. Local residents in Stanley described the apparent shooting as “terrifying,” with a neighbour a few doors down adding: “I never thought I would experience anything like this. I want to move out, I don’t want to be here.”A police investigation was immediately launched, and by Sunday, Durham Constabulary officers had arrested a 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
