Joe Burrow is the proud owner of his very own replica Batmobile.
“Have I told you I bought a Batmobile?” the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, 28, told teammates Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins during a recent episode of HBO Max’s docuseries Hard Knocks.
Higgins, 25, seemed unsurprised by Burrow’s reveal — instead of being shocked, he simply asked his teammate if he had received the vehicle yet. Burrow confessed that while he officially purchased the iconic car, there’s a one-year wait time before it can come into his possession.
Higgins then asked if the car was the exact one featured in The Dark Knight trilogy. The screen then flashed to a series of news articles sharing that the movie prop was up for auction. Chase, 24, then jumped into the conversation, telling Burrow that once he gets the car he has to go all out.
“You gotta go to the vengeance Batman when he had … the eye thing on,” Chase said, referring to the superhero’s iconic mask.
Burrow, for his part, is thinking about taking it a step further by going “all in” by purchasing the “expensive Batsuit” — and his teammates are here for it.
“That’s gonna be hilarious,” Chase exclaimed. “He’s gonna hop out of [the Batmobile] with the cape on.”
Burrow took it one step further and offered to wear the suit to every game, hoping it would bring the Bengals some much-needed good luck. (The Bengals are 5-8 on the season.)
“I [would wear] the full Batsuit [with the] batmobile to every game. I’d go crazy on Halloween,” Burrow offered. “[If I got] 500 [yards] and seven touchdowns, I’d wear it again.”
Higgins joked that if it was him, he would rock the superhero outfit while out at “the club” — which received a hearty laugh from Burrow and Chase. Burrow teased that the wide receiver would be showing off his dance moves while twirling the cape around.
Earlier this year, it was announced Warner Bros Discovery was teaming up to create a limited edition Tumbler based on the car from the iconic Christopher Nolan franchise. Only 10 models of the vehicle were up for grabs once they dropped in late October. The car cost $3 million dollars and includes an automatic transmission, stainless Steel Headers and an advanced software system.
Burrow was seemingly able to get his hands on the vehicle before his home was robbed earlier this month. According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, a burglary was reported at Burrow’s Ohio home around 8:14 p.m. ET on Monday, December 9, while Burrow and the Bengals traveled to Texas to play the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Burrow’s rumored girlfriend Olivia Ponton was at the house at the time.
The football player addressed the robbery while speaking to members of the media on Wednesday, December 11.
“So obviously everybody has heard what has happened. I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one,” Burrow said in a press conference, per Sports Illustrated. “And way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share, so that’s all I got to say about that.”
