Departing from his usual Donald Trump tirade, Jimmy Kimmel took aim at Trump’s “co-president” Elon Musk during his Live opening monologue Thursday (March 7.)
Kimmel brutally roasted Musk as he discussed his plan to pull the United States out of NATO and the United Nations, saying it’s “a big deal because Elon Musk, he has 14 kids, he doesn’t ever pull out.”
The late night host then ridiculed Musk’s 14 children for their “ridiculous” names, and pointed out that the only other celebrity who measures up is Nick Cannon, who currently has 12 kids.
“Elon had baby #14 over the weekend,” Kimmel announced on the show. “The baby’s mother tweeted the child’s name which is Seldon Lycurgus. I wonder if when he impregnates these women they have a conversation he’s like, ‘There’s one thing thats very important to me. The child must have a ridiculous name.’”
He then led a mini game where the Live audience guessed whose kid the name belonged to, from Zion Mixolydian (Cannon’s son) to Exa Dark Sidarael (Musk’s daughter.)
“Trump definitely thinks those are stupid names, right?” Kimmel asked the Live audience with a laugh. “The only thing dumber than Techno Mechanicus is Eric.”
The late night host has long teased President Trump for his newfound friendship and collaboration with Musk. After Trump won the election, Kimmel responded to reports that the pair spent “almost every single day” together with Musk sitting in on important meetings and suggesting cabinet appointees.
“He’s picking out outfits for Trump to wear, he’s been applying his bronzing cream for his face,” Kimmel joked. “Cute couple.”
“They’re both so terrible,” Kimmel said of Musk and Trump. “Twitter-dee and Twitter-dum.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
