Carice van Houten is setting the record straight about her relationship with Guy Pearce.
The Game of Thrones actress took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 22, to confirm that she and Pearce, 57, have not been together “for years.” The revelation comes after Pearce recently described ex-wife Kate Mestitz as the “greatest love” of his life.
“I don’t usually engage in discussions about my personal life, but because of a number of conclusions in the media last week regarding my relationship with Guy, I wanted to make something clear,” van Houten, 48, wrote alongside a photo of her and Pearce.

In an interview with The Guardian published on Saturday, January 18, Pearce made an admission about his relationship with his ex-wife.
“My ex-wife, Kate, was the greatest love of my life, but I’ve moved on from her now and the greatest love of my life is my child, Monte,” the Brutalist actor said.
While opening up about his “biggest disappointment,” Pearce said he “felt like I messed up my marriage.” He added, “I don’t feel that way anymore, but at the time I was devastated.”
