A travel blogger was gobsmacked to learn her travel-sized liquids might be seized at an airport security checkpoint, taking to TikTok to complain that the agent threatened to toss her cosmetic products and toiletries.
Jules Pomphrett was traveling through an airport in Canada when she was stopped at security because of the liquids in her carry-on bag. Despite being all travel-sized products, she was informed that they would not be allowed.
“When security pulls you over and threatens to throw away all of your makeup and hair products that are literally trial size??” the dismayed influencer wrote on a viral video posted last week.
While some viewers were quick to side with Pomphrett, the majority of commenters on TikTok slammed the content creator.

Pomphrett claimed that her friend and travel buddy carried on makeup products that were “bigger” than hers and got through security.
“I’ve gone over 100 flights with all this stuff in a carry on and never have been stopped before,” she added.
Some users accused the agent of wanting to keep the products for herself.
“It’s so they can pocket it later. Heard someone mention that … they go through the trash and get some freebies,” alleged one user.
“Her smirk legit says it all,” agreed Pomphrett, who later revealed that the agent boxed up her products and checked it onto her flight for her.
“Not you blaming a girl who’s just doing her job AND trying to insinuate she’s trying to steal from you WHILE YOU ARENT THE ONE FOLLOWING THE RULES?” a flabbergasted commenter wrote.
“Filming her face and implying in comments she wants to steal your products is mean,” chided another. “She’s just doing her job, there are signs everywhere about this and this has been a rule for years and years.”
According to the official site for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, liquids, non-solid foods and personal items that are liquid, gels or aerosols are not permitted in large quantities aboard flights.
Regulations state that those items — which include sprays, creams, deodorants, lip gloss, lotions, mascara, foundation and more — must be 3.4 ounces or less and placed into a single, clear, 1-liter bag if they need to be stowed in a carry-on bag.
Similarly, in the U.S., those restricted items in carry-on luggage must be in 3.4-ounce containers and placed into a single, clear quart-sized resealable bag.
