Poilievre pledged to put Canada first by enforcing and implementing reforms that tackle current issues like low wages, weakened economy and high crime. “We’re pushing to put criminals in jail and keep the streets of Winnipeg and Canada safe,” he said. He further pledged to deliver tax fairness to Canadians, promising to pass the “Tax-fairness for Traveling Trades Workers act” which will allow trade workers to write off the full cost of their food, transportation and accommodation for their jobs, while removing the $4,000 cap or requirement to stay overnight to be eligible.He further added that the Conservative government plans to get rid of the tax subsidy of luxurious corporate jets, only allowing flights equivalent to commercial airfare to be written off by corporations.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh made an appearance at a campaign event scheduled in Ottawa this morning, pledging to cap grocery prices and ban corporations from buying up affordable homes. “A lot of Canadians are worried about how much it costs them when they go to the grocery store,” Singh said, noting those fears have intensified due to anxiety about the impact of U.S. tariffs under President Donald Trump.
