Jolly and raunchy, as expected.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Netflix special, “A Nonsense Christmas,” dropped on Friday night and immediately got fans talking — from hilarious sexual innuendos to covers of holiday classics and shocking surprise guests.
The “Espresso” singer, 25, performed hits from her 2023 holiday EP “Fruitcake” — including “A Nonsense Christmas,” a festive remix of her hit single “Nonsense” from her fifth studio album.
Throughout the show, the Grammy nominee teamed up with artists like Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain and Kali Uchis for a few fun duets.
Tyla performed “This Christmas” with the former “Girl Meets World” star, while Twain and Carpenter sang a duet of “Santa Baby.”
Next, Uchis and Carpenter performed “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” while sitting in front of a burning fire.
And later, Chappell Roan sang a rendition of “Last Christmas” with Carpenter by her side.
In between the musical acts, Carpenter filled the time with funny skits alongside “Abbott Elementary” star Quinta Brunson, “Sweethearts” actor Nico Hiraga, model Cara Delevingne and more.
In one particular skit, Carpenter, Brunson and Delevingne played the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, who were — and will be — romantically ghosted by Hiraga’s character.
And in another, Carpenter played a girl dating Santa Claus. However, she had no idea that her boyfriend, who worked as a toy manufacturer and sported a big white beard, was actually Kris Kringle.
In typical fashion, the pop star had a plethora of outfit changes for the big night. Some of the fan favorites included the fur coat she wore during her performance with Chappell Roan, the strapless pink dress she opened the show with and the sparkly red bodysuit she wore during the big finale.
Netflix first announced its plans for the special in September and Carpenter unveiled the official trailer during her final show on the US leg of her Short n’ Sweet tour last month.
“Christmas is coming early this year,” she said at the beginning of the teaser. “I wouldn’t count on a silent night.”
The “Please Please Please” singer, who is fresh off a split from Barry Keoghan, attended a screening of the musical in New York City on Thursday night.
The hitmaker kept warm in a vintage Chanel Karl Lagerfeld black and white faux fur cashmere mini dress with a matching fur coat.
She completed the festive ‘fit with open-toed furry heels and a dark red lip.
Carpenter kicks off the European leg of her hit tour in March.
