Report: Obama frequently contacting Biden’s chief of staff, expresses concerns about potential Trump victory in 2024

Former President Obama is actively involved in helping strategize and advise the Biden campaign amid growing fears that former President Trump could win the 2024 election. Obama has been holding regular calls with White House chief of staff Jeff Zients and top aides to discuss election strategy. According to a senior aide on Obama’s team, the former president has always been concerned about a Trump victory and is now working to support the Biden campaign in any way he can. Obama has also reportedly met personally with Biden on at least two recent occasions to express his concerns about the upcoming election.

Obama has advised Biden to become more aggressive and make the 2024 presidential race a referendum on Trump in order to increase his chances of winning. During a private lunch, Obama reportedly told Biden that his campaign was unstable, persuading unhappy voters would be a challenge, and defeating Trump would be more difficult than in 2020. This advice comes as Time Magazine reported on Obama’s increased concern about the 2024 election, with Obama expressing worry that Biden could lose. Despite these concerns, Biden is privately defiant that he did not botch the Afghanistan withdrawal, as reported in a recent book.

Obama is not the only former president looking to help Biden in his re-election campaign. Both Obama and former President Bill Clinton are set to attend a major fundraiser for Biden at Radio City Music Hall in New York. A spokesperson for Obama’s office highlighted the unity behind Biden within the Obama Alumni Association, noting that they hosted an event for Biden’s campaign, during which attendees chanted, “Fired up, ready to go,” in support of the president. Obama’s increased involvement in the Biden campaign reflects the growing concern among Democrats about a potential Trump victory in 2024.

The White House and representatives for Obama have not publicly commented on these reported calls and meetings between Obama and the Biden campaign. However, it is clear that Obama is playing a significant role in advising and strategizing with Biden as the 2024 presidential election approaches. With concerns about a potential Trump victory looming large, Obama’s involvement in bolstering the Biden campaign could be crucial in helping secure a successful re-election bid for the current president.

As Obama continues to provide advice and support to the Biden campaign, it is evident that the former president is deeply invested in ensuring that Trump does not win the 2024 election. With increasing reports of his concerns about the upcoming race, Obama’s involvement could prove to be a valuable asset in helping Biden navigate the challenges ahead. By actively engaging with the Biden campaign and offering strategic guidance, Obama is demonstrating his commitment to ensuring a successful outcome for the current president in the upcoming election.
