In a recent report from The Independent, it was revealed that James Middleton, the brother of Kate Middleton, is in a feud with his neighbor David Alderton. Allegedly, Alderton has been putting up malicious posters in their Stanford Dingley village and complaining about noise and light pollution coming from Middleton’s family farm in Berkshire. The conflict began after Alderton joined a group that opposed a planning application submitted by Middleton, threatening that “things are gonna get brutal.”
The relationship between Middleton and Alderton has become so hostile that Middleton has requested communication to be done only through email or the local council, as mediation attempts have failed to ease the tension. Middleton stated that Alderton has a history of disputes with neighbors in the village, including taking legal action against the parish council and intimidating locals over rejected planning applications in 2017. Both parties have been approached for comment, but there has been no response.
Alderton has accused Middleton of using outdated and noisy machinery on his farm, releasing toxic fumes that impact the environment and nearby residences. According to Alderton, the noise and smells from the farm machinery, including old Massey Fergusons, threshing machines, and wood chippers, are unacceptable in a farming community. Middleton defended his farm practices, stating that occasional noise and smells are inevitable in a rural farming area and that he has a duty of care to his livestock and the countryside.
The conflict between Middleton and Alderton escalated in July when Middleton and his family went on vacation, and the housesitter was looking after their property. Allegedly, the family dogs caused some guinea fowl to be scared, leading Alderton to confront the housesitter and demand that the birds be quiet. Middleton informed the authorities about Alderton’s behavior after the birth of his son, revealing that the ongoing dispute has caused anxiety, distress, and animosity in the community.
James Middleton and his family have been dealing with ongoing tensions with their neighbor, David Alderton, who has been reportedly causing problems over noise and light pollution from Middleton’s family farm in Berkshire. Middleton and Alderton have been engaged in a bitter feud that has led to malicious posters being placed around their village and constant complaints from Alderton about the activities on the farm. Despite attempts at mediation, the conflict has continued to escalate, causing distress and anxiety for Middleton and his family.
