The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) announced that temporary regulations have been made in public transportation in Istanbul due to a walk and press release to be held around the Galata Bridge on January 1. According to the decisions taken by the Istanbul Governorship and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, some tram, IETT, and sea transportation lines have been stopped or their routes have been changed.

In this context, it was stated in the statement that on the T1 Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line, there will be no service between Kabataş and Sultanahmet stations from 22.00 to 02.00 today and between Kabataş-Beyazıt stations from 06.00 to 14.00 tomorrow. It was also emphasized that on the T5 Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line, there will be no service between Küçükpazar-Eminönü stations from 06.00 to 14.00 tomorrow, and a single track operation will be implemented between Cibali-Küçükpazar stations during this period.

Due to the closing roads, temporary routes have been determined for many lines affiliated with IETT, and it was mentioned in the statement that citizens can use the “Where is My Bus” mobile application to get real-time information. The lines that will be affected by the demonstration were listed as follows: “146B, 26, 26A, 28, 28T, 30D, 31E, 32, 33, 33E, 33ES, 33TE, 33Y, 35, 36KE, 38E, 46Ç, 50E, 50P, 54E, 54TE, 66, 70D, 70FE, 70KE, 74, 74A, 77Ç, 78, 78H, 79E, 79GE, 80, 82, 92, 92C, 93, 97A, 97GE, 99A, EM1, EM2.”

It was stated in the announcement that no voyages will be made on the City Lines Üsküdar-Haliç, Kadıköy-Haliç, and Beşiktaş-Haliç lines, and it was emphasized the importance for Istanbul residents to pay attention to the specified regulations to avoid inconvenience and evaluate alternative transportation methods.

The temporary regulations in public transportation in Istanbul have been implemented in response to the walk and press release planned around the Galata Bridge on January 1. The Kabataş-Bağcılar and Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Lines will have limited service hours and routes during the event. Various IETT lines have temporary routes, and City Lines ferry services to Üsküdar, Kadıköy, and Beşiktaş will not be available on the day of the event. It is important for citizens to be aware of these changes and consider alternative transportation options to avoid inconvenience.
