Reebok is set to release the new Nano Court shoe on June 20, which draws inspiration from the brand’s heritage offerings, specifically the 1990s Court Victory Pump. The $120 Nano Court is designed for tennis, pickleball, and padel, with a focus on providing a more recreational level court shoe that can handle various surfaces and sports. Reebok’s senior product manager, Tal Short, emphasizes the brand’s history and knowledge in the tennis space, ensuring that key components of a tennis court shoe are incorporated into the design.

The design of the Nano Court prioritizes keeping athletes secure on the footbed during the side-to-side movements common in tennis. Features such as a TPU heel clip, rubber kickups, Flexweave knit upper, clear toe protection element, and a herringbone pattern on the outsole are included to enhance stability and support. An internal bootie construction provides security around the ankle without hindering movement, offering consumers a mid-top shoe experience. By combining their historical knowledge of tennis with existing technologies, Reebok was able to bring the Nano Court to market quickly to meet the needs of fitness-focused consumers.

Reebok’s decision to expand into the tennis market aligns with the growing trend of consumers using tennis and pickleball as fitness activities. The brand’s deep heritage in tennis, from the Court Victory Pump worn by players like Michael Chang to outfitting the Williams sisters, provides a strong foundation for their reentry into the sport. Reebok plans to explore more opportunities in both training and tennis, with potential plans for a high-performance tennis model in the future. Special edition colorways tied to significant moments in the sport are also being considered to further connect with tennis enthusiasts.

The Nano Court will feature a range of color options beyond the initial launch colorway inspired by the Court Victory Pump. Bright colors, as well as white and black gum soles, will be available to cater to a variety of consumer preferences. Reebok aims to break into the competitive tennis market and assess the reception of the Nano Court before potentially introducing a higher performance tennis shoe. By combining their tennis heritage with modern technologies and consumer trends, Reebok is positioning itself to make a strong impact in the court shoe market and establish a lasting presence in the tennis community.
