The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for nearly 43,000 Ford Bronco and Escape vehicles due to a fuel leak in the engine that could pose a fire risk. Owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls using their vehicle identification number (VIN). Other recalls from March 31 to April 13 include Aston Martin vehicles being recalled for loose electrical cables, Daimler Truck vehicles for cracked wheel flanges, Hyundai vehicles for rearview camera obstruction, Jeep Cherokees for turn signal malfunction, and Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager vehicles for traction control deactivation.

The Ford recall on Broncos and Escapes is due to a fuel leak that poses an engine fire risk. The NHTSA announced that owners can take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have a drain tube installed at no cost. The remedy also includes a free engine control software update to detect a pressure drop in the fuel injection system and reduce engine power in the event of a leak. This recall is an expansion of a previous recall and owners can contact Ford customer service for more information.

Aston Martin is recalling nearly 3,000 of its 2021-2024 DBX vehicles due to loose electrical cables in the battery fuse box, which can cause engine stall or loss of headlights and/or power steering. Dealers will inspect and replace any damaged parts for free, with notification letters expected to be sent out soon. Daimler Truck is recalling over 29,000 vehicles due to cracked wheel flanges that could cause tire damage and increase the risk of a crash. A remedy is being completed, with notification letters expected to be mailed out in June.

Hyundai is recalling over 18,000 of its 2024 Santa Fe vehicles due to an obstructed rearview camera image that could impact visibility, leading to an increased risk of a crash or injury. Dealers will update the software for the rearview camera system for free, with notification letters expected to be delivered by June 1. Jeep Cherokees are being recalled for a turn signal self-canceling feature that may not function properly, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the steering column control module for free, with notification letters expected by May 17.

Chrysler is recalling over 26,000 of its 2024 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles due to a traction control system that does not function when the cruise control is activated, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will update the TCS software for free, with notification letters expected to be sent out in May. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact FCA customer service for more information. Overall, it is important for vehicle owners to stay informed about recalls and take necessary actions to ensure their safety on the road.
