Additionally, former TG2 director Sangiuliano has also filed a complaint against Boccia, claiming illicit pressure and attempted extortion.
The legal proceedings resulting from the allegations will run parallel with investigations stemming from Bonelli’s complaint. Investigating authorities will conduct various inspections and hearings to determine if any illegal activities occurred, particularly regarding the use of ministerial security vehicles and public funds for Boccia’s travels with the ex-minister. The Court of Auditors is preparing to launch an investigation into possible misuse of public funds, looking at expenses incurred by the Ministry of Culture, particularly related to the use of government vehicles and the attendance of events funded by state contributions. The financial police have also initiated checks on real estate transactions involving the key figure in the scandal and the awarding of contracts for the G7 Cultural Summit in Campania.
Meanwhile, Maria Rosaria Boccia has shifted her attention from the former minister to addressing Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In a post on Instagram directed at Meloni, she calls for kindness and understanding, stating that every woman should be free to live her essence while respecting others’ boundaries. Boccia seems to be suggesting that Meloni should listen with an open mind to fully comprehend the situation before choosing a course of action. She questions the premier’s readiness for conflict, urging her to set aside any aggressive stance. This shift in focus indicates that Boccia is attempting to change the narrative surrounding the scandal and potentially influence public opinion.
