Prince William ‘terrified’ Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with a cruel Easter prank

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie can recall one particular royal Easter that did not go as planned, largely due to a prank played by their older cousin, Prince William. The British Royal Family typically gathers at Windsor for Easter weekend, attending a church service at St George’s Chapel on Easter Sunday. One year, Prince William decided to play a trick on his cousins by biting the head off a chocolate mouse from a specially made egg, scaring Beatrice and Eugenie in the process. Despite this mishap, the Easter traditions observed by the Royal Family remain consistent over the years, including a fish dinner on Good Friday and a roast lamb lunch on Easter Sunday.

Former royal chef Darren McGrady shared the details of Prince William’s prank, describing how a Hickory Dickory Dock-themed chocolate egg was created for the children before it took an unexpected turn. William’s mischievous act led to the egg being returned to the kitchen for a quick repair to avoid further distress for Beatrice and Eugenie. This incident may be recounted by King Charles to his own children during this year’s Easter celebrations. However, the absence of Princess Kate, Prince William, and their children from the service signals that their family is spending the holiday in private, possibly due to Kate’s cancer treatment. Despite these changes, the Royal Family continues to uphold their Easter traditions in the midst of evolving circumstances.

Each Easter, the Royals partake in a church service, a roast lamb meal, and other customary activities to mark the holiday. Darren McGrady shared insights into the typical Easter menu, revealing the Queen’s preference for well-done meat and the inclusion of traditional dishes like compound salad. While the Royal Family’s Easter plans may vary due to individual circumstances, their commitment to these customs endures. Similarly, Easter memories and anecdotes, such as Prince William’s practical joke, are likely to be cherished and shared by the Royal Family for years to come. These traditions serve as a backdrop to the unique challenges faced by each member, emphasizing the importance of family ties and shared experiences during festive occasions like Easter.

Prince William’s playful side, as demonstrated by the chocolate egg incident, adds a personal touch to the Royal Family’s Easter celebrations. Despite the pranks and surprises that may occur, the bonds between family members remain strong, creating lasting memories that are cherished over time. As Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie recall that eventful Easter with their cousin, they reflect on the shared experiences and traditions that unite them with the rest of their family. The continuity of these rituals, including the church service, festive meals, and playful moments, highlights the significance of family connections and the enduring legacy of the British Royal Family’s Easter traditions.
