Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary on May 19, having tied the knot in a fairytale royal wedding ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2018. The couple has shared intimate details about their relationship and wedding day in various interviews and media projects. Fans were treated to a closer look at their wedding day through their Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries, which featured private images and video footage capturing important moments such as cutting the wedding cake and their first dance.

The historic St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was the perfect setting for Harry and Meghan’s wedding. This chapel has hosted many royal weddings throughout history, showcasing the grandeur and tradition of the British monarchy. The couple’s wedding guest list included 600 attendees from various backgrounds, including members of the royal family and high-profile figures from Hollywood, music, and sports who witnessed their special day.

Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, arrived at the chapel on foot, with William supporting Harry just as he had done for him during his own wedding to Princess Kate in 2011. Meghan made a stunning entrance in her Givenchy wedding gown, accompanied by an abbey-length lace veil and an antique diamond tiara loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II. Although Meghan walked down the aisle without her father, King Charles III met her halfway and escorted her to the altar in a touching moment.

The couple exchanged vows at the high altar of St. George’s Chapel, officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. After the ceremony, they were met with cheers from the crowds outside the chapel, celebrating their union. Following the wedding ceremony, Queen Elizabeth II hosted a reception at St. George’s Hall inside Windsor Castle, where guests enjoyed music from Sir Elton John and champagne.

The daytime reception included cutting the wedding cakes made by baker Claire Ptak, featuring lemon- and elderflower-flavored cakes displayed on historic gold plates from the royal collection. The couple cut the cake with a ceremonial saber, adding a touch of regal tradition to their celebration. The evening reception took place at Frogmore House, where Harry and Meghan had their first dance to the song “I’m in Love” by Wilson Pickett.

To conclude their special day, Harry and Meghan watched a fireworks display with their guests on the lawns of Frogmore House. One of the images captured during the display was later used for the couple’s first official Christmas card and featured in their Netflix docuseries. The wedding day was a magical celebration of love, tradition, and new beginnings for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
