In an effort to prevent migrant smuggling and human trafficking incidents in Muğla and to control irregular migration movements, the Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted operations targeting organizers involved in migrant smuggling in the Bodrum, Marmaris, and Datça districts. During the operations, 14 suspects/organizers were apprehended and referred to judicial authorities, with 12 of them being arrested and 2 released on judicial control conditions.
A total of 7 vehicles, including 3 minibuses, 2 vans, 1 car, and 1 motorcycle, used in migrant smuggling incidents were seized during the operations. A total of 99,047 TL in fines were imposed on the vehicles used in the incidents and confiscated by the authorities.
