Connections, a word game developed by Wyna Liu and published by the New York Times, has quickly gained popularity as the second-most played word game by the publication, following closely behind the success of Wordle. Liu expressed her surprise at the overwhelming response to the game and shared her excitement that something she cares deeply about is resonating with people. When it comes to conquering Connections, Liu recommends waiting as long as possible before guessing the answers.

Playing Connections involves creating four groups of four words each based on similar characteristics from a grid of 16 words. Each group is linked to a specific category color, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the most challenging. Players have the freedom to take as much time as they need to solve the puzzle, but are limited to four attempts. Correct answers are highlighted in the category color and removed from the grid, while incorrect answers remain.

For the Saturday puzzle, players were tasked with identifying words associated with certain categories. The yellow category was focused on individuals with the ability to predict the future, while the green category featured words to describe something extraordinary. The blue category contained terms associated with praising someone, and the purple category was linked to an adverb beginning with the letter “e.” The answers included words like “clairvoyant,” “special edition adjectives,” “great job,” and “extremely.”

If players did not correctly solve the puzzle, they have the opportunity to try again with a new Connections game released every Sunday at midnight in their local time zone. Newsweek offers helpful hints and clues to assist players in successfully completing the puzzle. In addition to Connections, players can try other word puzzles like Spellspire and Lexigo for a fun and engaging challenge.

Overall, Connections has become a popular word game that challenges players to think critically and make connections between words based on similar characteristics. With the support of Newsweek providing tips and hints, players can enhance their problem-solving skills and enjoy a relaxing and engaging puzzle experience on a Saturday afternoon.
