Several workers at a thread-producing factory in Sarayaltı Mahallesi complained of weakness and nausea and sought treatment at the Uşak Training and Research Hospital. Out of the 33 workers at the factory, 19 were admitted to the hospital for treatment. However, it was reported that the workers’ health conditions were good and there was no immediate danger to their lives.
On the other hand, AFAD teams initiated work at the factory where the incident occurred. Investigations revealed that there could be a chemical poisoning due to some materials used in the factory. Uşak Governor Turan Ergün stated that the health condition of the workers taken to the hospital was good and they were being kept under observation as a precautionary measure.
Governor Ergün also mentioned that the factory had been shut down and in the latest measurements, no abnormal gas levels were detected. He added that measurements would continue throughout the night by AFAD teams. The cause of the workers’ symptoms was still under investigation and efforts were being made to ensure their safety and well-being.
The incident raised concerns about the working conditions and safety measures at the factory, prompting further inquiries by relevant authorities. The health and safety of the workers remained a top priority as officials worked to determine the root cause of the reported symptoms and take necessary actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
