The music industry awards ceremony featured various categories and winners, with artists like Rema, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo receiving recognition for their work. In addition to individual awards, Beyoncé was honored with the Innovator Award, Cher received the Icon Award, and Green Day took home the Landmark Award. Olivia Rodrigo’s album “GUTS” won the Pop Album of the Year category, while her song “vampire” won Pop Song of the Year. Taylor Swift was named Pop Artist of the Year, and Luke Combs’ song “Fast Car” won in the Country Song of the Year category.

In the hip-hop genre, Metro Boomin’s album “Heroes & Villians” was chosen as the Hip-Hop Album of the Year, with Lil Durk’s collaboration with J. Cole, “All My Life,” winning Hip-Hop Song of the Year. Drake was named Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, and Ice Spice won Best New Artist in the Hip-Hop category. In the R&B genre, SZA’s album “SOS” won R&B Album of the Year, and her song “Snooze” was chosen as R&B Song of the Year. SZA was also named R&B Artist of the Year, with Victoria Monét winning Best New Artist in the R&B category.

In the alternative music scene, Boygenius’s album “The Record” won Alternative Album of the Year, while Blink-182’s song “One More Time” won Alternative Song of the Year. Fall Out Boy was named Alternative Artist of the Year, and Noah Kahan won Best New Artist in the Alt and Rock category. Metallica’s album “72 Seasons” won Rock Album of the Year, with Linkin Park’s song “Lost” winning Rock Song of the Year. Foo Fighters were named Rock Artist of the Year, while Jelly Roll won Best New Artist in the Country genre.

The awards also recognized music in other genres, such as dance, Latin pop/urban, regional Mexican, and K-pop. Kenya Grace’s song “Strangers” was named Dance Song of the Year, while Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s collaboration “La Bebe (Remix)” won Latin Pop/Urban Song of the Year. Peso Pluma was named Best New Artist in the Regional Mexican category, and Stray Kids’ album “5 Star” won K-pop Album of the Year. The socially voted categories highlighted fan favorites, with Taylor Swift winning Favorite Tour Style and Chlöe’s album “In Pieces” named Favorite Debut Album. Overall, the award ceremony celebrated the diversity and talent within the music industry.
