According to the House Oversight Committee’s investigative findings, Hunter Biden arranged for his father to meet with Jonathan Li and other BHR executives during a 2013 trip to China. The committee found that Hunter arranged for Mr. Li to have access to Vice President Biden’s political power in exchange for participating in the BHR deal. Hunter Biden himself acknowledged introducing his father to Jonathan Li during a coffee meeting and stated that he did not inform his father about Li’s background. Joe Biden has consistently denied any involvement in his son’s businesses, claiming he has never spoken to Hunter about his overseas business dealings.
Emails obtained by Fox News have cast doubt on Joe Biden’s claim of not discussing business with his son. In one email, Hunter requested keys for Joe and Jill Biden, along with his uncle, Jim Biden, for space he was sharing with a Chinese energy company chairman. Another email from Hunter to the chairman urged the chairman to send a $10 million wire transfer to fund the Biden joint venture with the company. Former business partner Devon Archer testified before the House Oversight Committee that Hunter put his father on speakerphone during meetings with business partners to sell “the brand.”
