Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Ministry has teamed up with the Kyiv School of Economics to launch a new master’s program in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This initiative aims to train drone development engineers to design, test, analyze, and improve UAV technology. Drones have played a crucial role in Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion, allowing Ukrainian forces to target key Russian assets and installations in occupied territories. With over 500 Ukrainian companies already operating in the drone sector, the new graduate program seeks to produce trained specialists to meet the growing demand in this industry. The government has also announced that Ukraine has the production capacity to manufacture more than 3 million drones annually.
The graduate program is open to individuals with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as specialists from various fields. Additionally, the Kyiv School of Economics will offer 10 scholarships to military personnel interested in pursuing this advanced training. Companies involved in the government’s Brave1 initiative, which focuses on investing in defense tech innovations for the Ukrainian military, will help develop the program and share their expertise in drone production. Civilian and military drones are considered to be among the most promising areas of technological development, making it essential to train specialists at a professional level to meet current and future demands.
