Myles Turner’s limited impact contributes to Pacers’ defeat against Knicks in Game 2

The New York Knicks secured a Game 2 victory against the Indiana Pacers with a score of 130-121 at Madison Square Garden, with Jalen Brunson emerging as a hero in the game. Brunson’s performance of 29 points, with 24 of them coming in the second half, was reminiscent of Willis Reed’s iconic Game 7 performance in the 1970 NBA Finals. Despite sitting out the entire second quarter due to a foot injury, Brunson made a significant impact in leading the Knicks to victory.

One of the key players for the Pacers, Myles Turner, had a disappointing night in Game 2, scoring just six points and having a minus-21 rating in 31 minutes of play. This was a stark contrast to his performance in the series opener when he scored 23 points. Turner’s struggles contributed to the Pacers’ loss in the game, making him a zero for the night. On the other hand, OG Anunoby emerged as an unsung hero for the Knicks, scoring a playoff-high of 28 points with four made 3-pointers in just 28 minutes before leaving the game due to a left hamstring injury.

The Knicks showcased impressive 3-point shooting in Game 2, with a 46.7% shooting percentage on 30 attempts from beyond the arc. Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby were key contributors in this aspect, making six and four 3-pointers respectively. This sharpshooting performance played a crucial role in the Knicks’ victory over the Pacers. Additionally, the intensity of the fans at Madison Square Garden was evident, with chants directed at TNT analyst Reggie Miller. Knicks player Josh Hart made a statement to Miller in response to the chants, showcasing the passionate support of the New York fans.

Overall, the Knicks’ Game 2 victory against the Pacers was a memorable and noteworthy performance, with Jalen Brunson shining as the hero of the night. Despite his injury setback in the second quarter, Brunson displayed resilience and determination in leading his team to victory. The Pacers, on the other hand, struggled in key areas, with Myles Turner failing to make an impact and subsequently being a non-factor in the game. The Knicks capitalized on their strengths, particularly their 3-point shooting, to secure a crucial win in the series. The passionate support of the fans at Madison Square Garden added to the atmosphere of the game, making it a memorable night for the Knicks and their fans.
