Similarly, on July 16, 2023, two Adams County Sheriff’s Department deputies were involved in an incident where a woman claimed she had been kidnapped and assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend allegedly shot the woman in the stomach, prompting one of the officers to fatally shoot him. These incidents were deemed justified used of force by the Attorney General’s office based on the investigations conducted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
