The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that the construction of new national gardens continues across Turkey with the aim of allowing citizens to connect with nature and breathe through green corridors.
A total of 237 national gardens have been opened since 2018 as part of the goal to cover 100 million square meters nationwide, while the construction of 275 national gardens is ongoing.
With the warming weather, necessary arrangements have been made in national gardens, which are preferred by citizens living in major cities to escape the noise of the city.
Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Özhaseki stated that national gardens are a significant driving force towards achieving the “2053 Net Zero Emission and Green Development” goals set by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Özhaseki emphasized that the services provided in the environmental field have been crowned with national garden projects, stating that “our cities are taking a breath with our national gardens. Our national gardens, located in the heart of our cities, with various shades of green, children’s play areas, walking paths, and sports facilities, are waiting for our citizens.”
