Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with representatives from four women’s volleyball teams at Palazzo Chigi: Imoco Conegliano, Allianz Vero Volley Milano, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri, and Igor Gorgonzola Novara. Also in attendance were the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee Giovanni Malagò and champion player Paola Egonu. After taking photos, Meloni played volleyball with the players for a few minutes in the courtyard of Palazzo Chigi. She was gifted signed jerseys and balls, and she signed a tricolour ball which was then given to the finalists of the women’s Champions League.
The participants at the meeting with the Prime Minister included Giovanni Malagò and Carlo Mornati from the Italian National Olympic Committee, as well as Giuseppe Manfredi and Stefano Bellotti from the Italian Volleyball Federation. From the Women’s Serie A Volleyball League, Mauro Fabris and Enzo Barbaro were present. Representing the Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 team were Filippo Vergnano, Lucio Zanon, Giulio Cesare Bregoli, Kaja Grobelna, and Ofelia Malinov. The Imoco Volley Conegliano delegation consisted of Piero Garbellotto, Daniele Santarelli, Joanna Wolosz, and Monica De Gennaro. Those from Allianz Vero Volley Milano were Alessandra Marzari, Claudio Bonati, Marco Gaspari, Myriam Sylla, and Paola Egonu. And finally, the Igor Gorgonzola Novara representatives were Fabio Leonardi, Enrico Marchioni, Lorenzo Bernardi, Cristina Chirichella, and Anna Danesi.
